To kick things off, I should probably share my own Last Lost Mixtape

After years of thinking about creating this podcast – about sitting with interesting, creative people and building their ultimate end of the world playlists – finally we are here.

But where else could I start than with my own end of the world playlist. That’s right, this is my Last Lost Mixtape, a place to get to know me on the deepest, musical level.

I’ve always been an album girlie. I find it so hard to pick out singles and individual songs – don’t get me wrong, sometimes I’ll latch on to a track so viscerally that it is all I can listen to, on repeat, for days – but most of the time, I’d much rather sit inside a whole project and spend 40–plus minutes with an artist, riding through the waves of their creativity and storytelling.

I try to listen to at least one or two new albums, in full, every single day. The only rule, it has to be from start to finish, in the order the artist prescribed it. There is something so magical about being able to enjoy an entire album in that way.

I think that is part of the fuel that inspired me to finally turn my microphone on and take the idea of The Last Lost Mixtape out of my brain and share it with you.

Mostly, it’s just because I love conversation – I love getting into people’s brains and finding out the things they are most passionate about, but also it’s because I love music and I love albums and I want to share the beauty of this glorious vessel for storytelling and memory and feeling together.

So here we go, The Last Lost Mixtape finally exists. And it’s yours as much as it is mine.
